Chai for Joy- The Perfect Cup of Chai

There’s something undeniably comforting about a warm, spiced chai latte, especially when the colder months roll in. The good news? You can whip up this delightful beverage right in your own kitchen. So, put on your comfiest sweater, grab your favourite mug, and let’s get brewing!

What you’ll need:

2 teaspoons of English Tea Shop Loose Leaf Chai Black Tea (or 2 teabags)

100ml of boiling water

1 cup of oat milk (or milk of your choice)

1 teaspoon of honey (adjust to taste)

Step 1: The Chai Concentrate

In your trusty mug, add 100ml of boiling water and 2 teaspoons of English Tea Shop Loose Leaf Chai Black Tea (or 2 Chai Black Tea teabags). Alternatively, if you want the same great taste with none of the caffeine, give our Intense Chai blend a go. Now, here comes the magic part: let it steep for 4-5 minutes. This is when the chai tea does its dance, infusing the water with its aromatic, spicy goodness. Just inhale that incredible aroma—ah, it’s like a warm hug from your cup!

Step 2: Heat Things Up

While your chai tea is busy steeping, turn your attention to the oat milk. You’ll want to heat it up, but don’t push it to the boiling point—just until it’s hot and cozy, like a toasty blanket for your chai. You can do this in a saucepan or take the shortcut by using your microwave, making sure it doesn’t overboil.

Step 3: Strain and Sweeten

After that perfect steep, it’s time to say goodbye to the tea leaves or teabags. Simply strain your chai concentrate into another mug.

Now, let’s add a touch of sweetness! Stir in a teaspoon of honey, but remember, you’re the maestro of your chai latte, so adjust that sweetness to your heart’s content.

Step 4: Froth, Froth, Froth

For a little extra oomph (optional), you can froth your hot oat milk. Get creative—use a frother or go old school by transferring it to a lidded container and shaking it with enthusiasm, being careful with the hot milk.

Step 5: Unite and Delight

This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Pour that hot, frothy oat milk onto your chai concentrate. Stir like a pro to combine those delightful flavours.

Step 6: Add a Touch of Flair

Feel free to sprinkle a dash of ground cinnamon or add a cinnamon stick to elevate your chai latte’s flavour and appearance. It’s like giving your cup a fancy little top hat!
