At English Tea Shop, love for our people and our planet is at the core of everything we do. Join us for regular chats with our employees and associates, to find out a little about them as individuals. Next up… a cup of tea with Ranga, our Assistant General Manager – Supply Chain, Logistics & Account Management here at English Tea Shop. We talk about shipping, favourite blends and Prajãva.

Your role

Tell us about your role at English Tea Shop. What does your job involve?

I oversee shipping & logistics operations for English Tea Shop and also work on sales and marketing within the company.

How does English Tea Shop ensure their shipping and logistics make minimal impact on the planet?

As a carbon neutral organisation, our mission is to optimise sea freight while minimising air

cargo. We also ensure minimal consumption of cargo protective packing materials are used, as they’re currently made out of plastics and we want to minimise the waste as much as possible.

What do you love the most about English Tea Shop and the farm-to-cup ethos?

I love that we’re creating a profitable and purposeful business which keeps people and sustainability at its core.

What does Prajãva or community mean for you?

A unique set of people working together and supporting each other as a close team, to deliver a great cuppa to our loving customers – who are also a part of our extended value chain.

How do you ‘Empower with Knowledge’?

I advocate and allow freedom for new developments in terms of shipping & logistics, sales and other areas to add more value to the business, while optimising the operation by gaining savings and increasing sustainability.

Your tastes

What is your favourite blend of tea and how do you enjoy it? Do you prefer loose leaf pyramid tea bags, tea bag sachets, or whole leaf tea?

My favourite blend is English Tea Shop’s Super Berries and I like to have it with ice. I do prefer the tea bag sachets, but also enjoy the luxury pyramid tea bags as well.

What blend do you reach for when you’re feeling unwell?

I would go for Immune Me or my other favourite blend, Lemongrass Citrus & Ginger.

What is your favourite ingredient in its natural form, and why?

I would say Rooibos, for its creamy and smooth taste.

Are you more of a tea cup or a mug person?

I am definitely more into mugs.

That’s all from Ranga for now, we hope you enjoyed the read. Do let us know which part of the team you’d like to hear from next. Until then, why not check out our Cup of Tea with Randika: Organic farming and Prajãva

All checked for great taste and great quality...
