Seasonal Sips: A Taste of Autumn

There’s a chill in the air and here at English Tea Shop, we’re embracing autumn with open arms. Our teas are perfect all year round, but they come into their own in the chilly weather. Celebrate the change of the season with us, as we showcase some of our organic blends that are just perfect for November! So get cosy with a cuppa, as we share some of our favourite seasonal teas and recipes.

 

Our autumnal blends

First up is the much moved Chai Black Tea. This English Tea Shop take on a classic favourite is perfectly blended for tea lovers everywhere. Cinnamon, cloves and cardamom create a depth of flavour. A spicy sweet treat! Our Chocolate Rooibos and Vanilla is a well rounded brew for those with a sweet tooth. Rich cocoa is offset with sugary vanilla in this South African Rooibos blend. A caffeine free hug in a mug which is best enjoyed with a generous slice of chocolate cake. Our Ceylon Cinnamon is another autumnal choice. With hints of ginger and cardamom, this one’s for the spice lovers! Guaranteed to perk you up on a cold day with those bright, zingy flavours. Our last autumnal pick is our Turmeric, Ginger and Lemongrass. This feel good tea packs a punch This aromatic and citrusy blend is sure to chase away those November blues. 

 

Our autumnal recipes 

Chocolate, Rooibos and Vanilla Latte – Steep 1 tea bag in 75ml of hot water for 5 minutes until perfectly brewed. Add 1 tsp of honey and a splash of vanilla extract to taste. Froth 25ml of milk and pour over the tea mixture. Dust with cocoa powder and enjoy this pillowy beverage of joy. Your favourite cuppa with a little sprucing!

Rooibos Martini – Steep 1 tea bag in 50ml of hot water for 5 minutes, leave in the fridge to cool. Once cooled, add to a cocktail shaker along with 50ml gin or vodka, 25ml lemon, a tsp of honey and lots of ice. Shake till chilled and add to your favourite glass. This delightful orange concoction is our take on the classic Earl Grey martini. 

 

Hot Chai- Warm 100ml of milk on a medium heat, add your Black Chai Tea bag and let it infuse the milk for 5 minutes. Add ¼ tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp honey and a 2 tsp nut butter and stir to dissolve. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. This comforting drink is a spicier version of a hot chocolate!
